Facilities Operations Manager – Birmingham (Virgin Media Contract)

ISS is seeking a highly skilled Facilities Operations Manager to lead the delivery of all hard FM services across our Virgin Media contract in Birmingham. This hands‑on leadership role is central to ensuring the safe, compliant and reliable operation of MEP, HVAC, BMS, fire and life safety systems, while driving exceptional service standards and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all hard FM services including MEP, HVAC, electrical, BMS and life safety systems
* Lead preventative and reactive maintenance programmes and ensure timely closure of tasks
* Manage asset lifecycle planning and statutory/HSE compliance
* Provide technical troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for critical issues
* Maintain audit‑ready compliance documentation and contractor governance
* Plan and coordinate in‑hours and out‑of‑hours works to minimise disruption
* Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures
* Directly manage onsite facilities, reception, cleaning and workplace teams
* Foster a culture of safety, accountability and high service standards
* Liaise with landlords, senior stakeholders, security teams and third‑party partners
* Support emergency response planning and business continuity activities
