Duni Poppies Ltd develops, manufactures, packages, and distributes catering products and other products to over 1000 UK distributors we are leader within our field. We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical maintenance, along with other skills to support the daily production operation by ensuring we have full machine capacity which will aid us to achieve high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency for our customers.
Responsibilities:
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will, set, service and repair napkin production machinery and equipment. You will have to work on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
The job covers 3 areas – setting the machines, preventative (planned) maintenance, and emergency maintenance.
Daily work includes:
* Constant adjustment of the machines to guarantee efficiency and quality of the products
* Frequent change of references
* responding immediately to machinery breakdowns
* fixing faults
* Liaise with production teams to keep machines running and be aware of any production or engineering issues which could impact on the operation.
* Identify areas and address issues identified by operators, team leaders and other personnel and take appropriate action to resolve.
* Promote and develop safe systems of work.
Preventative maintenance, your duties will include:
* making scheduled checks on machinery and parts
* finding and fixing faults, and setting the production line
* oiling and cleaning machinery and parts
* Carrying out scheduled overhaul and replacing parts that have reached the end of their working life.
* Conduct routine maintenance procedures on machinery and equipment
Skills and experience:
* Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
* Able to work on own initiative and make decisions based on knowledge and experience
* Constantly be able to demonstrate a passion for engineering and continuous improvement
* Ability to problem solve and be driven to complete complex tasks and issues
* Team player who is able to adapt to fast paced environment
* Preferred 5 years experience in similar environment
* Maintenance bias essential
* NVQ Level 3 Maintenance Engineering (desired minimum)
Salary and schedule:
* Working Mon - Fri with weekend overtime
* Rotating shifts weekly 6am-2pm or 2pm-10pm
