We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join our Southern BusinessLocation: First project just north of Horsham, Sussex, followed by projects along the Basingstoke / Wokingham corridorWe are looking to appoint an Assistant Site Manager to support the delivery of high-quality residential developments. The role will initially be based on a scheme just north of Horsham, Sussex, with future projects across the Basingstoke and Wokingham corridor.Working closely with the Site Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating day-to-day site operations, managing subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.What you will doSite Set-Up & CoordinationAssist in the setup of site welfare facilities, offices, and traffic management systemsCoordinate temporary works and site logistics in line with the construction programmeLiaise with utility providers and support service installation planningEnsure compliance with construction phase Health & Safety plansSubcontractor Management & SupervisionSupervise subcontractors including groundworkers, bricklayers, and carpentry tradesMonitor daily progress and ensure works are delivered in line with programme and drawingsCheck that materials and labour are in place to meet build requirementsSupport the Site Manager in issuing work and coordinating trades on siteQuality ControlMonitor quality of works including groundworks, blockwork, and superstructure elementsEnsure compliance with specifications (e.g. DPCs, cavity trays, insulation, lintels, finishes)Identify and report any issues, ensuring corrective actions are implementedHealth & SafetyPromote and enforce high standards of Health & Safety on siteSupport the preparation and implementation of RAMS and permits to workEnsure subcontractors operate safely and in line with company proceduresRecord and report accidents, incidents, and near missesESGTo support the business in meeting Environmental, Social and Governance aims as well as relevant objectives set within the Sustainability Strategy.Support the roll out of requirements related to our ESG objectives and pathway to net zero.
