Job Description
3. Manage the end-to-end supply chain relationship with a specified group of vendors so as to ensure the best possible quality, cost, delivery and overall supplier reliability for the Business.
4. Ensure the effective procurement of materials, components, major work packages and services for the Business.
5. Ensure effective supplier management to deliver SOTIF and SDPPM performance from the suppliers of their commodities.
6. Ensure competitive sourcing for all products and/or services with the objective of delivering year on year savings (PPV) against 'standard cost' in accordance with the objectives of the Procurement function.
7. Identify and highlight any areas for cost savings across the function through process improvements or otherwise.
8. Negotiate and issue purchase orders directed by purchase requisition from planner or MRP action message and in accordance with planned inventory strategies.
9. Review MRP requirements to ensure component deliveries are scheduled in line with production requirements; reviewing and issuing purchase orders and making necessary changes to requirements, schedule and price.
10. Monitor the delivery status of scheduled receipts to ensure on time delivery to need.
11. Research vendors and develop new and alternative sources of supply where vendors and preferred suppliers are inadequate.
12. Manage day to day procurement activities including internal and vendor communications; negotiating price changes with vendors, negotiating revised terms and special arrangements with vendors.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Senior Buyer should have:
13. +5 years' procurement experience within a Engineering/Manufacturing Organisation.
14. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build lasting supplier relationships.
15. Knowledge of procurement systems and best practices.
16. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
17. A proactive approach to identifying cost-saving opportunities.
18. Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance requirements.
