Job Summary
We are offering two to four sessions per week in a friendly and supportive work environment. With a list size of 6,500 patients we provide good continuity of care. Our medium‑sized practice allows speedy communication amongst the team. We are located in a nice, leafy North Kingston with easy access to Kingston town centre, river Thames and Richmond Park. We offer efficient administrative and secretarial support.
Main Duties
The post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
About Us
St Albans Medical Centre is a well‑established GP Surgery which has seen little change in partnership over 30 years. Three new partners started in April 2025, having previously been salaried colleagues.
Our dedicated team consists of six GPs, a nurse prescriber, two further practice nurses, two health‑care assistants and nine administrative members, including the practice manager, as well as a hospital dietician. We also provide services through PCN‑employed staff: a pharmacist, a pharmacy technician, two physiotherapists, a well‑being coach, a care‑coordinator, a dietician, and a social prescriber.

Job Responsibilities
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
Clinical responsibilities include surgery consultations, telephone consultations, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, and handling paperwork and correspondence promptly.
Make professional autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems.
Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness in line with current practice disease‑management protocols.
Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
Collect data for audit purposes.
Compile and issue computer‑generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
Prescribe in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever clinically appropriate.
Other responsibilities include awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies and guidelines, e.g. prescribing.
