Job Role: Transport ManagerHours: 10-hour day shift, Monday to FridaySalary: £50,000 – £60,000 (DOE)We are seeking an experienced Transport Manager on behalf of our client to join their freight forwarding company. The Transport Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the fleet and maintaining compliance with all relevant transport regulations.Ideal Candidate:Proven ability to work effectively within a team and alongside other transport managersMinimum of five years’ experience in a transport department managing HGVsHeld a CPC for at least 2 yearsValid UK driving licence for cars and light commercial vehiclesKey Roles and Responsibilities:Maintain vehicle planner and fleet documentation, arranging preventative maintenance and enforcing VOR policyKeep Operator’s Licence data accurate and compliant with the Office of the Traffic Commissioner and DVSAMonitor driver defects, addressing issues promptly and ensuring complianceOversee vehicle and driver tachograph downloads, resolving missing mileage and infringementsReview tachograph data and manage WTD reports for senior managementUpdate RHA portal and fleet spreadsheets, keeping driver licences and DCPC training currentManage vehicle defects and provide daily handovers to maximise fleet availabilityEngage national and EU suppliers to ensure compliance and reduce long-term costsEnsure all vehicles are legally compliant and correctly recorded against the Operator’s LicenceLead accident investigations and liaise
