For Vacancies at Denominational Schools:
Evidence of Catholic Church Approval: Applicants must seek Catholic Church approval when submitting their application. A copy of the approval should be provided to the Chair of the Panel before the interview. If pending, confirmation from the Church Representative that the approval application has been submitted will be sought.
Denominational Primary Posts: Applicants must have the Catholic Teaching Certificate or Catholic Religious Education Certificate for permanent posts in denominational primary schools. Further information and forms are available from the Scottish Catholic Education Service (SCES) website.
Denominational Secondary Posts: Applicants for denominational secondary schools need to have RC Approval for the specific school. Forms and information are available from the SCES website.
Responsibilities
This position is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020. Membership with the PVG scheme is essential, and preferred applicants will be required to join or update their PVG scheme membership before a formal offer is made.
The employment is excepted from section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants must disclose all convictions, even if spent, as failure to do so could result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
