Reporting to and supporting the Supplier Technical Manager, you will help to ensure that foods, consumables, and items for use in the factory meet our high standards.
You will monitor goods delivered from approved suppliers against agreed specifications to meet the requirements of legislation, third-party standards, customers, and the business.
Support will be provided to maintain, deliver, and develop related procedures, systems, and supplier audits to ensure compliance with business and standards such as those required by the British Retail Consortium Group.
This role is based at our Trowbridge Head Office and requires some travel to UK and European suppliers, potentially further afield.
Therefore, a UK driving license and valid passport are required.
This role involves working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities
* Gathering supplier information to support risk assessments
* Reviewing and obtaining stakeholder approval of raw material specifications against supplier approval documentation
* Liaising with suppliers to ensure technical requirements such as CoA’s and positive release are in place
* Maintaining and updating databases, compliance declarations, and risk assessments for approximately 400 suppliers
* Supporting the Supplier Technical Manager in completing desktop and on-site supplier approval and monitoring audits
* Resolving supplier-related non-conformances and complaints
* Supporting the continuous improvement of processes and procedures related to supplier and material approval to ensure a high-quality supplier assurance system
* Behaving in a manner that prevents risk of injury or illness to self or others
About you
Essential:
* Knowledge of food safety and quality requirements
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
* Numerate with strong written English skills
* Ability to build good working relationships with external suppliers

Desirable:
* Experience in approving food product specifications and supplier approval questionnaires
* Degree in Food Technology/Safety or similar
* Background in Quality Assurance or Food Technology
* Lead Auditor qualification
* Experience with supplier management software
