Applications are invited from registered teachers for this interesting and challenging post. The work involves supporting and advising families with pre-school children who have additional support needs, both at home and in pre-school placements.
The post requires a commitment to multi-agency work within an early years’ community team framework. The post-holder will work collaboratively with the team around the Family Nurture Centres and liaise closely with the Family Nurture Centre Headteacher regarding children within their community.
To contribute to the work of the Pre-School Educational Home Visiting Service in relation to pre-school children in Fife, who have complex additional support needs.
Service delivery will be within the aims, objectives and practice guidelines of the Pre-School Educational Home Visiting Service, in accordance with the policies and procedures of Fife Council Education Directorate, and within the relevant statutory framework.
To be accountable to Education Directorate for maintaining standards of practice through the Educational Home Visiting Service Manager.
The principal aim of the Pre-School Educational Home Visiting Service is to empower and support parents to actively participate in the process of educational planning, within the context of the Additional Support for Learning Act (2004 and 2009).

You are required to have high levels of interpersonal skills and abilities which will enable you to work as a member of a team to ensure positive outcomes for all children and young people.
You are required to demonstrate a commitment to your own professional learning as a practitioner through career-long professional learning activity and to be able to show how this has impacted on your practice.
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
You are required to be fully registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) and to model all behaviour expected of a teacher in Scotland in line with the relevant Professional Standards.
