Fertility Nurse / Midwife – Job Specification
This Private Hospital is a specialist healthcare provider in Fertility, Assisted Conception, and Gynaecology. We are looking for a dynamic and innovative registered nurse or midwife to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will play an active part in the day‑to‑day running of the clinic, adhere to all clinic processes and SOPs, and maintain the highest standards of patient care.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and assist with the smooth running of the clinic ensuring high standards of patient care.
* Carry out clinical duties in a professional and compassionate manner in accordance with clinic policies, protocols, and regulatory bodies including the HFEA and CQC.
* Schedule patient treatment cycles, conduct patient information sessions, administer drugs, and assist senior practitioners during egg collections, embryo transfer, and other assisted conception procedures.
* Support patients through their fertility treatment in a gentle and supportive manner, ensuring continuity of care.
* Maintain compliance with HFEA, CQC and other regulatory bodies’ Code of Practice and quality standards.
* Enter patient information and treatment details as required by the clinic and HFEA.
* Record keeping and data entry in line with HFEA standards and best practice.
* Contribute to the writing of SOPs and conduct audit projects as required.
* Serve as a primary point of contact for enquiries from potential clients, clients and the public, in a professional manner.
* Collaborate with the medical director, senior fertility nurse, embryologist, and other team members to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Qualifications & Skills
* Current RGN or RM qualification and up‑to‑date NMC registration.
* Excellent nursing/fertility nursing skills and willingness to learn.
* Training & experience in surgical pathways applicable to IVF practice.
* Pre‑ and post‑operative care of patients undergoing IVF and gynaecological procedures.
* Proficiency in computer use and Microsoft Office.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Good teamwork, multitasking, and prioritisation abilities.
* Attention to detail, tact, diplomacy, and professional representation of the clinic.
* Basic ultrasound scanning including transvaginal scanning.
* Phlebotomy and laboratory request form completion.
* Positive attitude and commitment to excellent customer care.
* Ability to analyse problems and take initiative in problem-solving.
Hours
The position is part‑time or full‑time depending on the right candidate. Working some weekends is required. The role is subject to DBS checks at enhanced level.
