Our client is a leading provider of HGV maintenance and repair services, trusted by the UK’s largest commercial fleet operators for over 30 years. They offer servicing, repairs, compliance management and emergency support to keep vehicles on the road.
Role
HGV Technician/Mechanic to join their team in Livingston. The successful candidate will maintain and repair heavy goods vehicles and trailers for Tesco.
Shift and Salary
* All shift patterns considered; minimum 40.25 hours (no Monday - Friday days available).
* Days: £18.51 per hour
* Nights: £21.04 per hour
* Overtime: £27.77 per hour
Responsibilities
* Service, inspection, maintenance and repair of trucks and trailers.
* Electrical, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic fault diagnosis, repair and installation.
* Overhaul electrical equipment and components.
* Setting and operating of machine tools and equipment.
* Welding and metal working.
* Department of Transport (MOT) testing preparation.
* Parts ordering and stores management.
* Support team members including Apprentice Technicians as required.
* Accurately record time and detail of completed jobs.
* Carry out inspection and repair of workshop equipment as directed.
Qualifications
* Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Maintenance or equivalent or proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role in vehicle maintenance.
* Diagnostics skills/qualifications – desirable.
* A valid Class 1 licence – desirable.
* Proficient in using hand tools and power tools.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
