An opportunity is available for a permanent Consultant in Orthopaedics at the new Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, located in the south west of Scotland.
Responsibilities
* Theatre sessions
* Outpatient clinics
* Trauma Clinics
* Clinical admin
* Ward round
* SPA
* Some of the sessions/working will be flexible
* Provide support in shoulder/upper limb and general trauma
* 1 in 8 on call commitment
The job plans will include a role in shoulder/upper limb and general trauma as above.
Reporting and accountability
* Divisional Manager - Surgery for the Acute and Diagnostics Directorate is Katy Jeffery; the successful post holder will be managerially accountable to this person.
* Clinical Director for Surgery, including Orthopaedics is Miss Maria Bews-Hair; the successful post holder will be clinically accountable to this person.
* Specialty Team Lead for Orthopaedics is Mr Sameh Hatab.
Context
It is an exciting time in Dumfries and Galloway as we relocated to a new District General Hospital in December 2017. The new hospital ensures NHS Dumfries & Galloway staff are able to continue to provide high quality clinical care to the population of Dumfries & Galloway in a modern environment.
