 
        
        Role Overview
The post holder will have direct contact with individuals and their families who have been victims of serious crimes, including violent, sexual, stalking and harassment offences. They will also work within the aims and values of the PS and HM Prison and Probation Service, demonstrating a commitment to equality and inclusion in line with PS policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
 * Provide information to victims and their families during the key stages of the offender’s sentence/hospital order and contribute toward assessment and management of the risk of harm to victims and their families.
 * Liaise with, provide and analyse information for, and give advice to criminal justice agencies and other partner agencies so that victim perspectives are considered.
 * Work in partnership with other agencies with the aim of preventing reoffending and meeting the needs of victims while also considering the rights and needs of offenders.
 * Travel regularly across rural and urban areas to maintain contact with victims, families and professionals (expected to visit locations such as Salisbury, Bath, Swindon, Gloucester, Tidworth/Ludgershall).
 * Adhere to all policies regarding the sensitive/confidential nature of the information handled, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
 * Be available for some out‑of‑hours working, including evenings and weekends, as required.
Qualifications
 * Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English and Maths.
 * Knowledge and understanding of the criminal justice system, courts, prisons, probation, the Parole Board, Youth Justice Services, and arrangements for Mentally Disordered Offenders.
 * Strong communication and influencing skills, demonstrated through previous experience or evidence of suitability.
 * Commitment to equality and inclusion, with an ability to work within the values and policies of the PS.
 * Willingly able to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
Working Arrangements
The role is based in Chippenham but requires a regular travel commitment to surrounding areas. Hybrid working arrangements may be offered where business needs allow, within the UK. Standard full‑time working hours are 37 hours per week, excluding unpaid breaks.
