Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: DSP SUPERMARKETS T/A KELLYS STORES Retail Supervisor/Manager - oversees daily store operations, leads the team, ensures excellent customer service, and drives sales performance. They manage staff, maintain store standards, handle operational tasks, and contribute to a positive and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and motivate staff, coordinate schedules, and assign tasks and provide coaching, feedback, and training; assist with recruitment and performance reviews.
* Ensure exceptional service, handle escalated queries, and maintain a welcoming environment and drive loyalty programs, promotions, and service initiatives.
* Oversee opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and store security, ensure compliance with policies, health & safety, and maintain accurate records.
* Achieve sales targets and KPIs, analyze data, and implement improvement plans and lead promotions, product launches, and merchandising strategies.
* Maintain attractive displays, manage stock levels, and monitor rotation (FIFO) and reduce waste/shrinkage and implement planograms accurately.
* Enforce safe working practices, train staff on safety procedures, and respond to hazards or incidents.
* Other duties as and when required.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
* Previous supervisory or management experience in retail (strongly preferred).
* Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong customer-service orientation and ability to manage conflict.
* Good understanding of retail operations, merchandising, and inventory control.
* Competent with POS systems and basic IT tools (e.g., Excel, email, scheduling systems).
Desirable Skills
* Previous experience in a similar job would be advantageous.
