Job Title: Civil Design Reviewer / Utilities Coordination Engineer Location: Remote (EMEA & APAC) Occasional travel About the Role We are seeking an experienced Civil Design Reviewer / Utilities Coordination Engineer to provide technical expertise and support for major data centre and infrastructure projects across the EMEA and APAC regions. The role focuses on utilities design and multidisciplinary coordination, ensuring civil and underground services are integrated, practical, and aligned with overall project objectives. Key Responsibilities Provide technical guidance and review for civil and infrastructure design packages. Attend and contribute to design coordination meetings, both within disciplines and across teams. Review design deliverables, providing comments, markups, and coordinating closure actions. Offer constructability input and practical advice to improve design quality and delivery. Report progress, risks, and coordination issues to the Civil Technical Lead. Work closely with other engineering disciplines on preparatory works and project interfaces. Provide technical guidance across key areas, including: Drainage (stormwater, foul, industrial both pumped and gravity) Electrical ducting and buried cable routing (HV, MV, LV, ELV) Pressure pipe systems (hydrants, potable/industrial water, blowdown, heat recovery) Fibre optic distribution (ducted and shallow-trenching systems) Road layouts, traffic routing, and paving design Earthworks (including preloading, blasting, ground treatment, coordination with geotechnical) Coordinate multidisciplinary design interfaces between civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical teams. Support design integration activities to ensure consistency across all packages. Use digital review and AI tools to improve efficiency and collaboration. Required Skills & Experience: Bachelors degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering or related discipline. 10 years experience in civil and utilities design, preferably in data centre or large-scale industrial/infrastructure projects. Strong experience in multidisciplinary design coordination. Understanding of underground utilities, civil infrastructure, and constructability issues. Proficient with design collaboration platforms (e.g., BIM 360, ACC, or similar). Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Able to work independently across a distributed, international team. Occasional travel within EMEA and APAC as needed. Desirable Qualifications: Chartered or Professional Engineer status (CEng, P.E., or equivalent). Experience with mission-critical facilities or high-reliability infrastructure. Knowledge of regional utilities standards and practices across EMEA/APAC. Strong awareness of constructability, safety, and design risk management.
