Overview
Equans are looking for a Multiskilled Technician – Mechanical, based at Tameside General Hospital, Ashton-under-Lyne. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. The role may infrequently require covering Salford Royal Hospital. A competitive salary and benefits package is offered.
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week with a pattern split across weeks (Week 1 07:00–15:00, Week 2 10:00–18:00).
Responsibilities
* Ensure workload is planned, delivered to specification and agreed service requirements.
* Plan, prioritise and resource projects.
* Ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of H&S and environmental regulations.
* Install, maintain and repair plant equipment.
* Diagnose, fault-find, commission systems and monitor facility performance through the PPM programme; identify any additional works required.
* Flexible working hours and on-call duties as required.
* Administer and complete relevant paperwork in a timely manner.
* Understand and meet ongoing customer requirements; develop effective working relationships with business partners, including subcontractor management and relevant permits.
* Demonstrate a fair, consistent and courteous attitude in all dealings.
* Hold a full driving licence.
* Maintain a smart appearance and professional manner representative of Equans.
* Work under pressure, take ownership of problems and resolve them.
* Report issues to the Technical Services Supervisor/Manager as required.
* Attend training courses funded by Equans as required for business purposes.
* Train to become an Authorised Person/Responsible Person in relevant disciplines (additional salary uplift available) and undertake reasonable requests.
Qualifications / Required Experience
* ONC/C&G or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Sound awareness of risk assessment and safe working with equipment; good knowledge of Health & Safety.
* Ability to measure, work to plans (method statements) and read technical diagrams.
* PFI/Healthcare experience would be an advantage; further training and familiarisation offered for the right candidate.
Desirable Experience
* Experience working on AHUs, Ventilation Systems, FCUs, LTHW, L8, Pumps, Pipework, Valves and other mechanical systems.
* Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
* Experience with Pressure Systems and PPM/Reactive work.
* Authorised Person experience.
