On behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs we are looking for a Data Engineer in Procurement for a 12 Month contract based in Derby (2-3 days per week on-site). The Role & Responsibilities: We are seeking a Data Engineer (Procurement Data focus) to join a Procurement Data & Analytics team. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and business intelligence, with a strong emphasis on building and maintaining a procurement data warehouse and enabling high-quality reporting outputs. The successful candidate will work closely with procurement stakeholders and IT teams to transform complex SAP and procurement datasets into structured, accessible, and actionable insights. Key Responsibilities: Build and maintain a procurement data warehouse using Microsoft Fabric Design and implement data pipelines and ETL processes Structure data into staging, fact, and dimension tables Integrate and transform SAP procurement data (vendor, orders, users, spend data) Develop reporting datasets and support Power BI / Tableau dashboards Work with procurement stakeholders to gather requirements and define data needs Translate complex data into clear, usable business insights Support data quality, governance, and access management Contribute to process mapping and definition of data flows across systems Key Accountabilities, Skills & Experience: Strong experience in Data Engineering or BI Development Hands-on experience with data warehousing (fact/dimension modelling) Strong SQL and data transformation (ETL/ELT) skills Experience with Microsoft Fabric (or similar modern data platforms) Strong Power BI (Tableau also beneficial) Experience working with SAP data (preferred) Familiarity with Databricks (nice to have) Strong stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering skills Ability to translate business needs into scalable data solutions Experience in enterprise or large-scale data environments desirable Next Steps: We will only accept workers operating via an Umbrella or PAYE engagement model.
