Why this role matters
As a key member of our Network Engineering team, you'll be at the forefront of shaping and evolving NewDay's cloud first network strategy. This is a hands-on, high impact role where Azure networking is absolutely central to what you do. Your work will directly influence the resilience, security, and performance of our enterprise platforms.
How You'll Contribute
Lead the development and delivery of sophisticated Azure network architectures, including Hub and Spoke, Landing Zones, Virtual Networks, Subnets, NSGs, UDRs, and VNet Peering.
Define and implement robust connectivity strategies across Azure, AWS, third party partners, and on premises environments using SDWAN, Express Route, Side-to-site VPN, and Remote VPN.
Lead and optimise network connectivity across NewDay offices, working with core and access switching, WiFi APs and controllers, firewalls, and 802.1x authentication.
Deploy Azure networking services using Infrastructure as Code, bringing to bear ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform to deliver consistent, scalable solutions.
Build and implement secure network solutions using Azure Firewall, Azure DDoS Protection, and other native security services.
Ensure all network builds align with industry guidelines, security standards, and compliance requirements.
Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols such as BGP across Azure and hybrid environments.
Monitor and maintain network performance and security using Azure Monitor, Network Watcher, SolarWinds, and other tooling.
Produce highquality documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures for Azure, SDWAN, and campus networks.
Champion network security, enforcing policies and conducting regular assessments across NewDay managed infrastructure.
Collaborate closely with architects, infrastructure and security engineers, application teams, and wider partners to deliver coordinated, future ready solutions.
Thrive in a fast paced environment, handling contending priorities within the Network team.
Participate in the on call rotation as required.
We're Looking For These Essential Skills
Extensive, practical experience in Azure networking, covering Virtual Networks, Subnets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Traffic Manager, and Azure Monitor.
Understanding hybrid networking technologies, including VPN, firewalls, WiFi, LAN, and Cisco networking.
Experience with core network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S).
Experience with IaC tools such as ARM templates and Bicep.
Demonstrable experience integrating on premises networks with Azure.
Strong troubleshooting skills for complex, multi-layered network issues.
Superb communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to work independently and cross-functionally within a high performing team.
