Title: Band 6 Trainee Systemic Psychotherapist.
Contract: Permanent (one substantive and one fixed‑term role).
Hours: 37.5 per week, full time, flexible working.
Location: Central Norfolk (CFYP). The service covers children under 14, youth 14‑25 and is aligning to under 18 & over 18 adults.
Salary: £39,959 – £48,117 per annum (Yearly).
Job overview
You will be an advocate for families and provide systemic therapy to young people and their families. You will work within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) that includes mental health practitioners, doctors, psychologists and assistant practitioners. The role emphasizes family involvement and a family‑therapy model. The Trust will fund your MSc (or equivalent) training and, upon successful completion, you will progress to a Band 7 position.
Main duties of the job
* Deliver evidence‑based systemic therapy to families and individuals.
* Advocate for family involvement in treatment and support.
* Co‑operate with MDT to provide integrated care and support.
* Participate in reflecting teams, parent support groups and multi‑family groups.
* Receive supervision from a qualified Family and Systemic Psychotherapist.
* Fulfil training requirements and complete the final part of the family psychotherapy programme.
* Engage in professional development, staff welfare and quality improvement activities.
Qualifications
* PGCert or PGDip in Applied Systemic Practice, or equivalent; capable of undertaking MSc/MA level academic rigour.
* Qualifying profession: medicine, social work, nursing, occupational therapy or psychology.
* Ongoing professional registration with the relevant regulatory body.
* Qualification in provision of supervision.
Experience
* Demonstrated knowledge of mental health practice; effective risk assessment and management.
* Experience completing mental health assessments including core assessments.
* Experience delivering evidence‑based interventions.
* Experience working in a service with demanding targets and performance management.
* Experience working closely with families on mental health concerns.
* Previous experience as a care coordinator or lead care professional.
* Post‑graduate study experience.
* Experience delivering systemic interventions.
* Experience with reflecting teams.
Skills
* Analytical and decision‑making skills; care planning skills.
* Proficiency in evidence‑based interventions.
* Good verbal and written English language skills.
* Ability to use clinical supervision and personal development positively.
