The award-winning East Riding of Yorkshire Building Design Team is a busy, well-established, multi-disciplinary practice embedded within the Local Authority. We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor, to join the Building Design team on a permanent basis.
This position would ideally suit a candidate who is looking to step up to the next level or looking for a new challenge.Due to the seniority of this position, you'll need to demonstrate at least 10 years experience in the relevant sector of the construction industry.
The successful candidate will be required to take on the cost management role on a number of large capital projects currently being delivered as part of the Council's capital programme. This would range through pre and post contact cost forecasting and management being involved from scheme inception through to handover, liaising with various Stakeholders, building users, design team members and external consultants and contractors. The post holder, at this level, will also carry out relevant management duties, and would also support junior senior members of the Quantity Surveying team on project delivery.
The position will involve a client facing role and in depth relationships with contractors so good communication skills and experience at presenting is a must. You will also be working within a multi-disciplinary team, so evidence of problem solving and co-operative working, will need to be demonstrated.
An understanding of Cost X is required, also Revit and AutoCAD with these being the main software in use for design.There will also be flexibility within working patterns with the ability to work from home and time spent in the office.
