Senior Youth Worker - Youth Support
2 hours per week. Term Time. An exciting opportunity has been created within Youth Support to provide open access support to young people of Bridgend. The successful candidate will manage one of our youth centres within the county, managing a team of youth workers and ensuring the delivery of a needs led provision that meets the needs of young people in line with the five aims identified in the Youth Work Strategy for Wales.
Responsibilities
* Manage one of our youth centres within the county, leading a team of youth workers and ensuring the delivery of a needs led provision that meets the needs of young people in line with the five aims identified in the Youth Work Strategy for Wales.
* Work in a variety of settings including street based as service needs dictate.
Requirements & Qualifications
* Avalid driving licence is required for this post (desirable for post holders to possess a full valid driving license; note: there are requirements for a valid driving licence).
* The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
* Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
* An Enhanced DBS check with Children's Barred List is a requirement for this post.
* Weekend Working is a requirement of this post.
Additional Details
* Posts may involve a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 evenings per week and the occasional weekend work.
* The post holder will be expected to work in a variety of settings including street based as service needs dictate.
