As our Community, Participation & Volunteer Co‑Ordinator, you will champion the value of engagement, support the team to coordinate activities, and help grow and diversify opportunities so more people can get involved. This is a varied role that requires excellent organisational skills, a proactive approach to problem‑solving and strong relationship management skills. You will be required to work some weekends.
Responsibilities
* Champion the value of engagement and support the team to coordinate activities across the National Trust Norfolk Coast, Broads & Sheringham portfolio.
* Support community engagement and volunteering work, putting people at the centre of our plans; build strong partnerships, create inclusive volunteering opportunities, support and value volunteers, and encourage community‑led activities that help restore nature.
* Support colleagues, champion best practice, and ensure our systems and data are well managed.
* Work to remove barriers to participation, ensuring under‑represented voices are heard and actively involved.
* Build collaborations and partnerships within our community by creating and supporting opportunities for people to share time and skills, actively supporting community, partner‑led or independent activities.
* Carry out Duty Manager responsibilities during opening hours – acting as the main contact point for staff, volunteers, and customers in case of emergency, enquiry or complaint.
Qualifications & Experience
* A strong understanding of community engagement, participatory practice, and volunteer innovation.
* Experience in increasing community participation and developing inclusive opportunities.
* Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
* The ability to coach and support others, and to work collaboratively across teams.
* Confidence in using data and insight to guide decisions.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation including safeguarding, GDPR, and equality.
* A proactive, empathetic, and inclusive approach.
