This role is open only to applicants from the Hampshire & Isle of Wight NHS system, including Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB, Southern Health FT, Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, Isle of Wight NHS Trust, University Hospital Southampton FT, Solent NHS Trust, South Central Ambulance Service or Hampshire Hospitals FT.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a team to provide an efficient and reliable Materials Management Service throughout the Trust by setting up and maintaining ward/department stock profiles, including high‑value non‑stock items procured directly from suppliers.
* Produce and analyse reports to recommend and persuade user departments to follow Trust initiatives such as Standardisation and Rationalisation programmes.
* Take ownership of all aspects of the day‑to‑day Materials Management operation for allocated wards/departments, working independently.
* Co‑ordinate workload to undertake counts and replenish stock to agreed levels using bar‑code data capture technology.
* Meet ordering and delivery deadlines for consumables, assessing clinical requirements for urgent requests (procedural urgency, quality, price, supply route, etc.) and implement effective ordering and distribution mechanisms.
* Download information to the computerised materials management system.
