Together we are Trusted to Serve Scotland. Howâs this for job satisfaction? At Scottish Water we look after Scotland's most precious natural resource. From source to tap, weâre guarding Scotlandâs reputation for refreshingly pure water, and caring for our environment at the same time.  Sound good? Weâre looking for 2 Project Managers to join our HAUC Diversions Team. Youâll play a key part in protecting our assets while supporting development across Scotland. Youâll be responsible for technically assessing and responding to developer enquiries where new projects may impact Scottish Waterâs infrastructure. Youâll oversee the delivery of HAUC Diversions through the full C2-C9 process, managing both technical and financial assessments along the way. And youâll work closely with external customers, offering technical advice and information that helps them move projects forward while ensuring our networks remain safe, compliant, and protected.  What youâll do   Youâll be the first point of contact for diversion enquiries, logging, tracking, and closing them in Astro Dynamics. That means checking information is complete, keeping records up to date, and making sure responses are accurate and on time.  Youâll review technical submissions from developers, utilities, and other third parties, confirming any clashes with Scottish Water assets and checking designs against our standards. This will include supporting C3 and C4 diversion designs with consultants and working with organisations like Transport Scotland, BEAR Scotland, Network Rail, and local councils to secure approvals.  Youâll keep projects moving by managing relationships with clients and colleagues, from design through to construction. That includes reviewing costs with our estimating team and clients, agreeing cost shares, and tracking progress through to final accounts. Youâll also work closely with our Managed Delivery team to monitor delivery, flag risks, and resolve issues.  Finally, youâll make sure diversion works are safe, compliant, and cause as little disruption to customers as possible. Youâll review risk assessments and method statements, support health and safety action groups, and play your part in continuous improvement.  What youâll need   Youâll bring a solid understanding of how water distribution and wastewater systems operate, with the confidence to make quick, informed decisions when issues arise. That means balancing operational needs with customer impact and ensuring investment delivers long-term value.  Strong communication and negotiation skills are key, as youâll often work with regulators, local authorities, developers, and consultants. Youâll need to explain technical issues clearly, influence decisions, and represent Scottish Waterâs interests while building positive relationships.  Youâll also have experience managing projects and budgets, from reviewing technical submissions and cost proposals through to keeping schemes on track during delivery. Along the way, youâll ensure compliance with legislation like the Water (Scotland) Act, the Sewerage (Scotland) Act, and health and safety requirements.  Finally, youâll be adaptable and customer-focused, ready to work in a mix of office and site environments and to respond when challenges arise.  Looking out for you ⯠  While the work we do is important, we know itâs not the only thing that matters. Thatâs why we make sure you have everything you need to find a good work-life balance.⯠  Youâll get plenty of time to recharge with 38 days of holiday every year (including public holidays). And you can even buy five more if you need a little extra time. You can also take paid time off to volunteer in your community.⯠ ⯠ When it comes to major life events we have family-friendly policies around adoption, maternity, and parental leave. And for the everyday? We embrace flexible working.â¯â¯   For your future, thereâs our pension (the âknow-what-youâll-get-when-you-retireâ kind), as well as life assurance.â¯â¯   As for some nice extras? You can expect an annual company bonus. Not to mention access to SW Splash â handy rewards that can save you money on holidays, bills, and shopping.⯠ ⯠ The not-so-small print ⯠  This role will be a Grade 7. If youâre new to Scottish Water, youâll join us on a starting salary of £44,030. Performance-driven pay progression would then allow you to move through the range to a maximum of £55,000.   If youâre interested in this role â or know someone else who might be - weâll be accepting applications until midnight on Wednesday 24th September.  Job offers at Scottish Water are conditional, and will be confirmed on completion of our pre-employment screening, e.g. referencing, criminal record checks, license checks, etc. Screening is conducted on our behalf by a third party, and must be completed before your start date. Donât worry - weâll only start these checks once youâve accepted an offer. ⯠A few final things worth knowing⦠ Research shows that some people avoid applying for jobs unless they can meet every single criteria. If youâre interested in this job, but donât tick all the boxes, apply anyway! We hardly ever hire people who can do every part of a job from Day One. Everyone has a learning curve. So donât rule yourself out!  Let us know if there are any changes we can make to our recruitment process to help you perform at your best. Lots of our people have disabilities or neurodiverse conditions (including some of our recruiters!). We're also aware that some people might be experiencing temporary challenges because of life events, like menopause. Weâre very used to making adjustments, so please donât be afraid to ask.  As part of our commitment to developing a flourishing Scotland, itâs important that all our employees are Scottish taxpayers. If you join us, your home address will need to be in Scotland. If you donât already live here, you'll need to commit to moving here within your first three months.  Finally (finally!), candidates who havenât submitted an application in the last 12 months will have their records removed from our recruitment database. You wonât need to do anything. Your data will be automatically deleted. Weâre here to help. Ask us anything at SWRecruitment@ScottishWater.co.uk Â
