About the Role
We are seeking a Multiskilled Shift Engineer with an electrical bias and strong mechanical capability to join our dedicated engineering team on a highly regulated pharmaceutical site. This is a critical role ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of essential building services and plant equipment, while maintaining compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and stringent safety standards.
What You'll Do
1. Electrical Maintenance & Fault Finding: Planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and diagnostics on electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, control panels, and BMS.
2. Mechanical Maintenance: Service and repair of HVAC systems, pumps, motors, compressed air systems, and water treatment plant.
3. Building Services: Maintain plumbing, drainage, and general building systems.
4. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all work meets regulatory and site standards, with accurate record-keeping.
5. Shift Operations: Respond to breakdowns and maintain operational continuity across the site.
6. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and reliability of plant and equipment.
About You
Essential:
7. Recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation).
8. Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
9. Proven mechanical maintenance experience (HVAC, pumps, motors, compressed air systems).
10. Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
11. Excellent problem-solving skills and team collaboration.
12. Willingness to work rotating shifts (days and nights).
Desirable:
13. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS).
14. F-Gas certification.
15. PLC controls and automation experience.
16. Steam systems and boiler operation knowledge.
17. Confined space and working at height training.
18. GMP experience in pharmaceutical or regulated environments.
19. IOSH or NEBOSH safety qualification.
