Maintenance Engineer
Location: Scunthorpe
Shifts: 4 on, 4 off (Days &; Nights Rotation)
Salary: £43,000 OT Benefits

I’m working with a well-established food manufacturing business that’s looking to add a Shift engineer to their engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a multi-skilled engineer to work in a modern, fast-paced environment where engineering plays a key role in business success.
You’ll be responsible for both reactive and preventative maintenance across a variety of food processing equipment including filling machines, spiral freezers, pumps, steam kettles, metal detectors, and depositors. This role is a true 50/50 split between mechanical and electrical work.
Key responsibilities:
* Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on factory equipment
* Fault-finding on mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
* Supporting production teams to minimise downtime and maximise machine availability
* Logging maintenance activity through the site’s CMMS (Shires)
* Coaching and supporting operators and junior engineers
* Proactively identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
* Collaborating closely with the Maintenance and Engineering Managers
The ideal candidate will have:
* NVQ Level 3 / HND or equivalent in Engineering
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a food manufacturing environment
* Experience with CI projects and proactive engineering approaches
* Good working knowledge of CMMS systems
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
* IT literacy and confidence liaising across departments
