Overview
Zac is a happy boy who enjoys being active outdoor and watching his iPad. He is Autistic and non-verbal – phrases to aid communication would need to be learnt. Some personal care will be required. A typical day for Zac includes going to school, bouncing on his trampoline and watching his iPad. Some days you’ll find yourself taking Zac to Air Thrill or to an ASN gymnastic session, other days could be going to the local swimming pool or park.
Responsibilities
* Escort Zac to and from activities, ensuring his safety and supporting him in doing the things he enjoys most.
Qualifications and qualities
* Patient, understanding of Zac’s needs, and a caring, nurturing approach.
* Willingness to learn phrases and communication aids to support a non-verbal child.
* Reliability with travel to and from Kirkintilloch (travel to local activities).
* Driving license is preferred to help take Zac to and from places he loves.
* A PVG Update will be required for the role.
* Experience in ASN/care work is not required, but an interest in caring for a child with complex needs and significant impairment of functional language is preferred.
Role details
This role involves 4 per week, with flexibility depending on specific needs. Wage: £14.20 per hour.
Location
This role is based in Kirkintilloch, so it’s important you can travel to and from the area reliably.
