Sheet Metal Worker
Location: Huddersfield
Hours: 38.75 hours per week
* Monday – Thursday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
* Friday: 7:00am – 11:45am
Overtime: Paid after 38.75 hours at time and a half
Salary: £30,517 – £41,820 (depending on experience)
A UK engineering and manufacturing company is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker to join their fabrication team.
Key Responsibilities
* Support daily fabrication operations within the production team
* Manufacture and finish components to company specifications and quality standards
* Read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings
* Work with steel and fabricated components in line with production requirements
* Prioritise workload in line with project plans and deadlines
* Ensure work is completed within cost and time targets
* Assist with maintenance of equipment when required
* Support quality assurance procedures and company standards
* Contribute to R&D and process improvement activities where required
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
* Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
* Ability to read and work from technical engineering drawings
* Experience with welding and fabrication processes
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong planning and workload management skills
* Awareness of health and safety in a workshop environment
Desirable:
* Experience with sheet metal fabrication
* Stainless steel fabrication experience
* Experience in FMCG industries (food, beverage, pharma, etc.)
* Background in a structured fabrication department
