Job Overview
The Security department at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital provides a variety of services to patients and departments, maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff. The role involves delivering a high‑quality, efficient, customer‑orientated Security service and ensuring compliance with the Trust Patient Confidentiality Policy.
Responsibilities
* Deliver a comprehensive security service to all wards and department areas on site.
* Protect people and property, detect and prevent crime, and secure hospital grounds.
* Manage the Trust’s car parks, deal with illegally parked vehicles, and ensure safe access and egress.
* Work on a rota that includes 12‑hour shifts with a 1‑hour unpaid break.
* Provide flexible security support and carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Successfully pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
* Meet Fit and Proper Person Requirements (FPPR) and any additional pre‑employment checks required by CQC and statutory guidance.
* Physically fit and capable of performing required duties.
* Excellent communication skills to interact calmly and professionally with patients, staff, and visitors.
* Applicants should be aware that the Trust pays for DBS in the event of a DBS check, with the cost deducted from first monthly pay.
Working Hours & Flexibility
Full‑time hours are available (equivalent to 37.5 hours per week). The position may also be split as a 50/50 job share of 18.75 hours per week. Flexible working arrangements are available to balance patient care with employees’ needs.
