Our client is currently recruiting for a Commodities Trading Support Analyst. Based in London, the role will be on a 6-month contract basis. ROLE Working closely across the Trading and Accounting & Compliance teams, the role will offer support to traders in all administrative tasks. RESPONSIBILITIES Trade Booking and Verification: Accurately capturing and verifying trade details and incoming invoices in relevant systems Reconciliations: Performing reconciliations between various systems (e.g., risk management, trading platforms) to ensure data consistency Issue Resolution: Investigating and resolving discrepancies, errors, or other issues related to trade processing Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to enhance processes, improve efficiency, and reduce operational risk Communication: Maintaining clear and concise communication with traders, originators, operations, market risk, and other relevant teams Reporting: Generating reports on positions, trade activity, P&L, and other relevant metrics REQUIREMENTS Attention to Detail – Essential for accurate trade booking, reconciliation, and error resolution. Analytical Thinking – Required for investigating discrepancies and identifying root causes. Communication Skills – Clear and professional interaction with traders, risk, and operations teams. Problem Solving – Ability to resolve issues independently and escalate appropriately. Process Improvement – Experience in identifying inefficiencies and implementing solutions. Time Management – Managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Technical Proficiency – Familiarity with trading platforms, risk systems, and Excel/SQL. Team Collaboration – Working effectively across departments and with global teams. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. Systems Knowledge: Experience with trade capture systems, reconciliation tools, and reporting platforms. Excel & Data Tools: Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas); familiarity with SQL or Python is a plus. Industry Experience: Prior experience in energy trading, commodities, or financial services operations would be helpful.
