Quantity Surveyor

Location: Derby
Our client is renowned as a market leader in the provision of innovative and bespoke integrated systems, offering a range of highest quality services that encompass Project Management and Implementation, Consultancy, and Software Development to blue-chip clients worldwide. As a result of continued success and an ongoing planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to complement their established and successful Supply Chain team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review and negotiate the terms of new client contracts.
2. Manage and administer existing contracts.
3. Implement contractual changes using EWN and Compensation event processes.
4. Manage and issue quotes for instructions.
5. Create and manage client payment applications.
6. Draft and negotiate subcontracts and undertake associated administration including change management.
7. Collaborate closely with project teams to resolve commercial issues and support decision-making processes.
8. Provide guidance on contract interpretation and application while ensuring compliance with NEC principles.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Appropriate degree in Quantity Surveying or at least 4 years equivalent experience in an engineering and technical environment.
2. Membership of a relevant professional body is advantageous.
3. Extensive knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts (NEC3 & NEC4) and a good track record of their application in infrastructure or technology projects.
4. Sound working knowledge of construction and contract law and various forms of Conditions of Contract.
5. Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
6. Strong client and supplier communication and negotiation skills.
7. Ability to juggle a range of different tasks with commitment to meet schedules and deadlines.
