We are now looking for an experienced Project Manager (Rail) to join our team. This is a varied role, combining office-based planning with site visits and offers the opportunity to take full ownership of multiple projects, from early planning through to completion, while helping to shape the future of the business.
Responsibilities
* Office and site-based role —regular presence in the office is essential.
* Standard hours: 08:00–16:00, Monday to Friday with optional overtime available.
* Plan, manage and deliver projects from £5,000 – £100,000, taking responsibility from site walkouts and scoping to paperwork, delivery and handback.
* Lead internal planning meetings, liaise with subcontractors and suppliers, and represent the company at client progress meetings.
* Prepare and issue RAMS, task briefings, site folders and handback documents.
* Develop work package scopes and ensure appropriate safety and protection measures are in place.
* Monitor progress, resolve issues, and inspect works for quality, sign-off and compliance.
* Maintain accurate project documentation and provide clear updates to Directors and clients.
* Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, including procurement of materials.
* Oversee budgets and track project costs (payment managed by accounts team support).
* Carry out site inspections, briefings and support safe site supervision.
* Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to budget, in line with Network Rail and industry standards.
* Produce performance and quality reports on operatives and subcontractors.
* Complete and file shift reports.
* Problem-solve to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to budget.
* Act as a key support to Directors, providing input on operational planning and business development.
What We're Looking For
* Enthusiastic team player and leader with strong industry knowledge.
* Minimum 5 years' proven experience in rail or construction project delivery (essential).
* Solid understanding of Industry & Network Rail standards, RAMS and safety processes.
* Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
* Confident with MS Word, Excel and documentation systems.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* PTS or other rail safety accreditations (desirable).
* Full UK driving licence (essential).
