JOB TITLE: UX Designer (6-Month FTC)
LOCATION: Edinburgh
SALARY: £59,850 - £66,500
HOURS: Full-Time
DURATION: 6 Months Fixed-Term Contract
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, involving at least two days per week or 40% of our time in the Edinburgh office.
About this opportunity
We’re looking for a collaborative UX Designer who can take full ownership of their design output, confidently present to stakeholders, and adapt designs based on feedback from users and research.
As a UX Designer, your responsibilities will include:
1. Crafting cohesive end-to-end user experiences, balancing content and UI elements using components from a central design system.
2. Bringing designs to life with prototyping tools like Sketch, InVision, Figma, Axure, or Adobe XD.
3. Balancing business requirements with user needs by gathering research and advocating for user-centric solutions.
4. Adapting designs to technical constraints across platforms while guiding the creation of optimal user experiences.
5. Promoting inclusive and accessible design for diverse user groups.
What you'll need
* Experience in User Experience or Interaction Design.
* Strong background as an Interaction or UX Designer, possibly from a Visual Design background.
* Ownership of interaction design projects from start to finish.
* Excellent prototyping and layout skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and development teams.
* Proficiency with existing design systems and proactive suggestions for improvements.
* Ability to interpret research data to inform design decisions.
* Experience in complex environments, ideally in financial services.
* Collaborative mindset working with multidisciplinary teams.
* Strong communication skills to ensure designs are implemented accurately and inclusively.
* Advocacy for customer inclusivity and accessibility.
