We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support our payroll function for 6 months through a critical transition period. This role will play a key part in maintaining service continuity, improving payroll processes, and supporting the wider team during a period of change.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Delivery
* Manage day-to-day payroll administration and processing activities
* Support the reduction of payroll backlogs while maintaining high service levels
* Provide cover for key payroll responsibilities
Process Review & Improvement
* Review and redesign existing payroll processes, workflows, and task allocation
* Identify inefficiencies, duplication, and gaps within current operations
* Realign responsibilities across the team to improve effectiveness and resilience
* Standardise documentation and streamline workflows
* Ensure payroll records and processes are audit-ready

* Proven experience in payroll processing within a fast-paced environment
* Strong understanding of payroll controls, compliance, and audit requirements
* Experience reviewing and improving payroll processes
* Ability to operate independently and hit the ground running
