The Role of the Project Engineer
The Project Engineer will support upcoming and live engineering projects, taking responsibility for both technical design work and project delivery support across the full project lifecycle.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you will be actively involved in 3D CAD design as well as supporting project management, documentation, compliance, and quality activities. You’ll work closely with design, manufacturing, compliance and project teams to ensure engineering solutions are practical, compliant, and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities of the Project Engineer:
Support upcoming and live engineering projects from concept through to implementation
Carry out mechanical design work, producing and updating 3D and 2D CAD designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
Provide project management support, including planning activities, tracking actions, coordinating stakeholders and supporting schedules
Promote and support Health, Safety & Environmental standards across all project activities
Prepare, maintain and control project documentation, including drawings, technical files, reports, specifications and handover packs
Support compliance and quality assurance, ensuring projects meet internal standards, customer requirements and regulatory obligations
Work closely with mechanical, electrical, compliance and manufacturing teams to ensure coordinated project delivery
Assist with risk identification, issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives
Provide technical and project support to customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
Requirements of the Project Engineer
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Engineering qualifications
At least 3 years’ experience in a project, design or manufacturing engineering environment
Strong 3D CAD experience, ideally SolidWorks
Experience designing machinery, assemblies, pipework or similar engineered equipment
Exposure to project coordination, documentation and stakeholder liaison
Good understanding of engineering and manufacturing principles
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Interest in global projects, travel opportunities and long-term development
