About The Role

Are you interested in a career in reinvestment and retrofit project management working for a leading charity?

Opportunity to join an innovative property services team in a leading charity and play a key role leading reinvestment and retrofit programmes to improve housing for vulnerable and homeless people.

St Mungo’s is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to join our Assets team and drive refurbishment and energy improvements across our housing portfolio.

The Role

This is a chance to make a real and positive impact on people’s lives as they recover from homelessness.

You will be responsible for improving our housing stock quality, delivering responsive and planned maintenance, reducing carbon emissions, and ensuring our properties are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with PAS 2035 and relevant standards.

You will work with the Senior Project Manager in ensuring refurbishment/retrofit programmes meet quality and regulatory requirements, and will prepare budgets, forecasts, and programme schedules, and oversee the design, procurement, and delivery of refurbishment/retrofit projects.

Building relationships with partner organisations, including the GLA, Homes England, and local authorities is an important aspect of this role, as is managing contracts for reinvestment/retrofit initiatives and contributing to strategies in reinvestment, safety, PIE (psychologically informed environments), and sustainability.

You will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. This allows for training, in person collaboration, team building, line management and other relationship building opportunities. We support a flexible approach to work with opportunities for agile working for the rest of your week; from home, or other St Mungo’s London or regional locations.

About you

You will be suitably qualified (RIBA, RICS or CIOB) or offer equivalent experience, with proven experience of managing complex reinvestment and retrofit programmes and substantial budgets, ideally within a social housing or local authority setting.

Experience of conducting financial appraisals and risk management and driving transformational change is essential. You will also require experience of design development and environmental standards.

The ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (e.g., Architects and Contractors) and work with Retrofit Coordinators, Assessors, and Designers to ensure compliance with best practices is equally important.

Strong project management skills developed through experience, and/or project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, APM, PMP) are also essential.

Above all, you will be passionate about enhancing Decent Homes Standards for the people who urgently need St Mungo’s help.
