Job description:
Cafe Assistant required for core part time hours Tuesday to Friday 10am-2pm (16hrs)
with ability to provide holiday cover and occasional Saturday work.

Giraffe is a professional but supportive environment where we work with individuals facing barriers such as autism, learning disabilities and mental ill health. Our trainees come to us from all over Perth and Kinross (and beyond) to develop skills, gain experience and move towards independence.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* To provide friendly, attentive and efficient customer service, ensuring our customers always have the best experience possible.
* To proactively support our trainees to learn and develop during their work experience placements
* ·To support all business activities front of house and in the kitchen.
* Assisting with dishes and any kitchen tasks as required
* To ensure that the café adheres to strict hygiene regulations at all times
* This position will involve opening and closing the cafe, along with monetary responsibilities.
* To assist the supervisors in all café tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our café and social enterprise
* To participate in marketing and fundraising activities where necessary
* To help with deliveries and support occasional events outside of normal café hours
* Ideally be able to work additional days/hours to help cover staff holidays over the year, these are normally booked in advance.
* Monitoring stock levels and letting the manager know when a product is running low
* To carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned
ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
* Have proven experience in a similar role, ideally in a food retail environment
* Experience in a supportive role (desirable but not essential)
* Fit in with the current cafe team.
* Can deliver an amazing experience to our customers
* Reliable, organised, empathetic and can demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills
* Good understanding of Food Hygiene/ Safety legislation
* Good literacy and numeracy skills
* Ability to remain calm under pressure
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.60 per hour
