The Role
Inspection Services is a core part of the Manheim Inventory Solutions business and is the leading provider of end-of-lease vehicle inspection and collection services. The service offers a seamless process for capturing end-of-lease damage in the presence of the hirer, providing tangible ROI. It supports auction infrastructure by delivering inspected vehicles ready for sale and also delivers vehicles to auction centres outside the Manheim portfolio. Inspection Services is a trusted partner to most blue-chip leasing companies.
Scope of Role
Reporting to a Team Leader, our upskilled drivers perform a pivotal role by inspecting, collecting, and delivering vehicles for external and internal customers. They serve as a critical customer-facing role within the operations team.
You will consistently provide efficient vehicle inspection and services, achieving quality and quantity targets aligned with SLAs and business goals.
The upskilled driver role is entry-level, offering exposure to various aspects of the automotive industry. Working for Manheim, part of Cox Automotive Europe, is both challenging and rewarding, requiring lateral thinking and organisational skills.
Objectives for Role
* Carry out single car collections and deliveries safely, timely, and efficiently, alone or as part of a team.
* Accurately record all relevant information and mileages within TrackTrans.
* Provide excellent customer service in line with Cox Automotive values.
* Handle customer complaints calmly and professionally.
* Perform vehicle inspections using BVRLA fair wear and tear policy and specific account procedures, providing detailed reports.
* Take high-quality photos of vehicles, equipment, and damages, following SOPs.
* Explain inspection findings to customers and answer questions.
* Download and sync inspection data at the customer’s address.
* Report vehicle accidents, damages, and faults promptly, adhering to company policy.
* Follow Cox Automotive HSE policies and use PPE as required.
* Work well under pressure and within a team.
* Prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
* Full driving licence held for more than 1 year.
* Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
* Previous vehicle inspection and mechanical knowledge.
* Basic inspection/bodyshop and mechanical knowledge is advantageous.
* Computer literacy—using handheld devices, email, Teams, and basic spreadsheets.
* Knowledge of vehicle derivatives.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficiency with computers and mobile phones.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
