• SEMH Teaching Assistant • KS2 • Newham • Immediate or September Start A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Newham is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to provide support for pupils with SEMH needs within KS2. The Role As a KS2 Teaching Assistant specialising in SEMH support, you will work closely with pupils who require assistance in managing social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Your role will involve offering 1-to-1 and small group support to help pupils access learning, regulate emotions, and engage positively within the classroom and wider school environment. You will work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure pupils receive consistent and tailored support, including contributing to progress monitoring and providing regular feedback. A calm, resilient, and confident approach is essential, as you will be supporting children through both academic and behavioural challenges. In addition to targeted SEMH support, you may also assist with general classroom activities and support other pupils across the class when required.
