We seek an enthusiastic and motivated Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker for the Pre-assessment service at Princess of Wales Hospital. This role involves supporting pre-operative patient care and managing patient flow in a fast-paced, nurse-led service assessing fitness for anesthesia.
Candidate requirements
* Educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
* Knowledge of healthcare settings
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to work independently
Main duties
* Perform ECGs, Venepuncture, MRSA screening, and vital signs
* Recognize and report signs of patient distress and abnormal vital signs
* Proficient in WCP, WPAS, Email, Microsoft systems, and note tracking
* Welsh language skills are desirable

Qualifications and experience
* NVQ/Diploma Level 3 or equivalent; Phlebotomy and ECG training and competence
* Experience in healthcare settings, recording vital signs and ECGs, blood sampling
* Experience in pre-assessment or outpatient departments is desirable
