Overview
Transport Scotland is looking for an experienced individual to lead the Sustainable and Active Travel policy and performance team within the Bus and Active Travel directorate.
The unit is responsible for developing and implementing sustainable and active travel policy that underpins delivery of the National Transport Strategy and supports First Ministers' priorities, including eradicating child poverty and tackling the climate emergency.
Key Priorities
* Lead policy work through the Active Travel Framework.
* Establish a national evaluation framework.
* Deliver policy for integrated sustainable travel networks across Scotland.
* Develop regulatory policy for e‑bikes and e‑scooters.
* Embed and develop the new regional delivery model for active‑travel behaviour‑change programmes.
* Build capacity and capability across partners to deliver impactful behaviour‑change programmes.
* Provide leadership and line management to a three‑person team with their own staff.

Location & Working Pattern
Post based in Glasgow – 177 Bothwell Street, G2 7ER. Office based twice per week pro‑rat.
Standard hours are 35 per week with flexible working options.
