Located within Novotel Sydney Brighton Beach, Coco’s offers beachside charm with unbeatable views of the water and a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere. Guests can catch all the biggest sporting events on the giant megascreen, enjoy a game of pool on one of two tables, and settle in for a day of great drinks, fresh eats, and laid-back fun. About the Role:
We’re on the hunt for a passionate and hands-on Assistant Manager who lives and breathes hospitality, sports and great guest experiences. You’ll help lead the team at Coco’s on the Beach, ensuring every shift runs smoothly, the drinks flow and the atmosphere stays electric. We need someone who is confident managing gaming operations and compliance to bring energy, initiative and a can-do attitude to every service. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in vibrant, sports centric venues and is ready to take the next step in their hospitality career.
Key Responsibilities:
* Be a visible leader on the floor, acting as the face of the venue and creating genuine connections with guests to drive a welcoming atmosphere
* Oversee daily food and beverage operations, ensuring smooth service and exceptional guest experiences
* Maintain in-depth product knowledge across menus, beer & wine lists, cocktails, and spirits
* Manage gaming operations with a focus on guest satisfaction and compliance
* Contribute to the planning and execution of creative promotions and venue initiatives
* Drive performance by managing labour costs, rostering, and budget adherence
* Ensure accurate end-of-day cash-up procedures and thorough venue close-downs
* Stay across venue compliance requirements and uphold operational standards
* Lead, coach, and develop the team through hands-on support and effective communication
About you:
* Previous experience in an Assistant Manager or 2IC role in a high volume hospitality environment (sporting venues highly regarded)
* Highly motivated, customer focused, and passionate about hospitality and sports
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities with efficiency and composure
* Proven experience in staff rostering, labor cost management, and budget control
* A solid track record of meeting and exceeding Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
* A natural and confident leader with exceptional communication skills
* RSA and RCG accredited with a strong gaming background
* Have strong product knowledge in craft beer, wine and spirits
* Have full availability to work a mix of nights, weekends and day shifts
* A police check is required for this role
