Licensing Assistant

About the role:
This post will join a small, dynamic team to assist the Licensing Officers in the effective and efficient operation of the Licensing Service within the policies, procedures and objectives of the Council.
The role will consist of receiving, processing and assisting to determine licensing applications within the required statutory time frames.
The postholder will undertake a full range of clerical duties, including word processing of correspondence, Licenses, reports and associated documentation.
About you:
- Strong commitment to Local Government and public service - Needs to be self-motivated, proactive and capable of working on their own
initiative, but work equally well with other members of the Team - Will need to have excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage time to prioritise work to meet deadlines -Experience of an Office background and the use of office / IT packages
What you will do:
- Receive process and assist in determining registration or licensing application within targets as specified in the Service Plan and by statute. - Maintain clear, factual and relevant records as appropriate to enable provision of accurate, up to date information in support of the Commercial Service and as required for collating statistical returns and maintaining Public Register information - Plan and manage work schedules over varying periods of time from monthly to annual etc. independently to monitor licences and ensure renewal reminders,
payments etc. are within statutory timeframes. - Undertake a full range of clerical duties, including word processing of correspondence, Licenses and reports and associated documentation. - Assist with advice and enquiries from members of the public, business owners,
Members etc. signposting to Licensing Officers, other organisations or departments as necessary
