First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Finance Assistant on behalf of one of our clients.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities for the Finance Assistant:
1. Collate & submit wage payments via Bacs
2. Coordinate & report weekly payroll deductions to HMRC, DWP, B&CE etc.
3. Liaise with IT & process payroll year end.
4. Set up new supplier / subcontractor or amend ledger accounts as required.
5. Distribute supplier invoices via email.
6. Collate and send supplier / subcontractor payments via Bacs.
7. Reconciliation of supplier statements.
8. Send out subcontractor tax deduction statements & reconcile monthly tax returns.
9. Process branch / cash book payments via bank & post to system.
10. Collate & process interbranch payments.
11. Generate & post journals where required.
12. Control, reconcile and post petty cash.
13. General filing & annual archiving.
14. Provide support for branch admin with supplier / payroll queries.
15. Provide support during annual finance audit.
16. Provide support / cover for Finance Team as and when required.
17. Any other ad hoc duties.
Skills and Qualifications for the Finance Assistant:
18. Incumbents need to be articulate, numerate and demonstrate competence in:
19. General Accountancy.
20. Payroll.
21. Excel spreadsheets.
22. AAT level 2 desirable but not essential.
23. Knowledge of construction industry preferred but not essential.
Location: Cradley Heath
Salary: £27,000 – £30,000 per annum
