If you re a passionate and GTCS-registered teacher looking for a truly meaningful role, this is your opportunity to make a real difference. We re offering a unique maternity cover position for the 2025/26 school session, supporting young people aged 14 and above with Complex Additional Support Needs in a small group teaching setting. This isn t your typical teaching role. Here, education is deeply personal. You ll be helping young people who have experienced significant challenges to reconnect with learning, build confidence and develop vital life skills. In a therapeutic and nurturing environment, you ll create bespoke learning experiences that help each individual feel valued and capable. You ll have the space to build strong, trusting relationships, and the time to truly tailor your teaching to each learner s needs. We re looking for someone who genuinely believes in the potential of every young person. You ll be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland and have experience working with children or young people with additional support needs or a strong desire to gain it. Your approach will be warm, relational and inclusive, with a good understanding of how trauma, neurodiversity or other barriers can impact a young person s experience of education. You ll be someone who brings calm, consistency and empathy into the classroom. As well as being an excellent communicator, you ll be confident working as part of a wider team liaising with care staff, therapists, families and external agencies to ensure each child receives the support they need. Ideally, you ll hold a full UK driving licence, or be willing to work towards one. And while you don t need to share our faith, you ll be comfortable working within a Christian ethos that values compassion, dignity and inclusion.
