SLR Consulting has an excellent opportunity to join our Renewable Technical Services (RTS) team in a position that will take responsibility for the project management of large-scale BESS and solar projects, from construction to operation. This post supports growth in construction support and bridges the gap between existing Development and Operational services.
Role: As an Engineering Project Manager, you will be central to our Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT) Owner’s Engineer Service. Acting as the single point of contact you will liaise directly with the client and contractors, then coordinate support from the wider team. You will have oversight of all project aspects, including design reviews, change and risk management, site witnessing, and be responsible for reporting, stakeholder management and chairing meetings, as well as coordination of both internal and third‑party teams in providing timely expert advice. Our service is pragmatic and proactive, providing Trusted Advisor support to ensure project success.
Core responsibilities include:
* Design reviews – Managing the design reviews: civils, electrical, controls, ITP, interfaces in designs and contracts, commissioning and handover.
* Site visits – Contractor meetings in support of witnessing, progress reviews and reporting to client and funder.
* Coordination of a multi‑disciplinary team and single point of contact for the client, providing pragmatic and proactive advice to mitigate risks ahead of time and avoid issues.
About you
* Project management and construction experience of large BESS projects, and / or HV projects (ideally up to 400 kV), with experience supporting delivery of BESS projects as an Owner’s Engineer (OE) or Construction Manager at an EPC, Developer, IPC or Consultancy.
* Electrical background is a key requirement; additional experience with BESS, solar or wind OE, or substation design is highly beneficial.
* Experience working in a multi‑disciplinary environment with a good understanding of planning, ecology and associated teams.
