A large secondary school in Derby is looking to appoint a dedicated Attendance Officer to strengthen its pastoral and safeguarding provision from January 2026.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for monitoring student attendance, following up concerns and working closely with pastoral and safeguarding teams to improve attendance outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

• monitoring daily registers and attendance reports
• carrying out first-day calling
• preparing attendance data for pastoral and SLT meetings
• liaising with parents and external agencies
• supporting attendance interventions for students with barriers to learning
