Job Purpose:
To oversee the day-to-day management of the Almshouse, ensuring the well-being of residents, the smooth running of operations, and the responsible stewardship of finances and administration. The Almshouse Manager plays a vital role in maintaining a caring and respectful environment while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
The Manager will report directly to the Trustees and provides the key link between residents and Trustees. It is a varied role requiring good communication skills. We are seeking someone who is professional and empathetic with experience of looking after older people.
It would be beneficial if you have experience of property maintenance including health and safety. Previous financial experience is necessary as the role involves managing our day-to-day finances in collaboration with the treasurer.
Key Responsibilities:
Resident Care & Support
* Foster a safe, supportive, and respectful community for residents.
* Act as the main point of contact for residents, addressing concerns and facilitating access to support services.
Finance & Budget Management
* Manage day-to-day financial operations including budgeting, invoicing, and expense tracking.
* Oversee contribution collection and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Administration, maintenance & Compliance
* Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and produce minutes for Trustee meetings.
* Manage contracts with suppliers and service providers. Including utility suppliers (electricity, gas, water etc).
Communication & Community Engagement
* Promote the Almshouse within the local community and build positive relationships with stakeholders.
* Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
