Adult Services provides support to adults over the age of 16 who have assessed needs. The individuals using our services often have additional support needs related to learning disabilities or autism and require assistance to live independently, attend Day Support and meaningful activities, or have short break respite.
Social Care Workers are responsible for delivering direct support to individuals in various settings, including their own homes, supported tenancies, Care Inspectorate-registered services (such as supported vocational activities or short breaks), and within the community. The goal is to help individuals achieve their personal goals, priorities, and outcomes.

Additional Information
* The grade of this post is G/H.
* This post is not career graded.
* The pay rate includes Distant Islands Allowance of £1.4808 per hour.
* This is a permanent part-time position, working 20 hours per week over 52.18 weeks per year.
* Preferred candidates will need to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or update their existing PVG scheme.
* The successful candidate must register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) upon starting.
* This vacancy does not meet UK visa sponsorship requirements; only apply if you do not require UK visa sponsorship.
* No relocation package is available for this post.
* Interview expenses will be paid from within Shetland.
* Flexible working arrangements can be discussed.
