Role Overview:
Leads planning activity to secure viable and deliverable consents for both short- and long-term land acquisitions. Works closely with land, technical, and wider teams to manage the planning process efficiently and strategically.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to overall business strategy and performance as part of the management team.
* Oversee planning function to ensure best practices, cost control, and value generation.
* Undertake planning appraisals, assess risk, and advise on deliverability and timelines.
* Manage planning applications and appeals across a range of sites.
* Lead engagement with local authorities, stakeholders, and communities.
* Promote land through the planning policy process and represent at Local Plan Examinations.
* Monitor changes in planning policy and advise on business impact.
* Prepare board reports, provide regular planning updates, and advise on policy changes.
* Maintain strong working relationships across internal teams and with external stakeholders.
Person Profile:
* Chartered Member of the RTPI
* Skilled negotiator with strong verbal and written communication
* Commercially aware with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Able to manage multiple projects under pressure
* Confident in decision-making and stakeholder engagement
